This is the time of year when things really step up around the Indian River Festival, and it’s especially exciting as each concert becomes confirmed for the coming season. We are so pleased to announce that Rose Cousins and Brooke Miller will take the stage on Friday, July 22, 2011. This will be a concert that is close to many hearts around this community, as Rose is well known and loved by many friends and family here.
Rose Cousins has charmed audiences throughout North America, from intimate house concerts to sharing the stage with Symphony Nova Scotia. In her music, Rose explores love and loss, longing and loneliness, and the strength of the human spirit. Her artistry combined with her charming stage presence makes it the kind of performance that audiences love. Rose can now count among her many awards to date, the 2010 Canadian Folk Music Award’s Contemporary Singer of the Year.
Appearing with Rose will be Brooke Miller, another Prince Edward Island native. Named one of the best up and coming emerging artists in the country today, Brooke’s undeniable guitar, vocal and songwriting skills will make this a collaboration not to be missed!
